SMKTTDI held its PIBG meeting recently and we had first hand experience of petty politics and its rawest and raunchiest! My-oh-my, if you were there you would see the dark side of human beings - backstab, deceit, revenge and anger - on show for free. ;)
Anyway, we were invited to speak about SMKTTDI alumni. However, the meeting soon turned awry. The cause? Ustaz Ahmad was vindicted for spreading ajaran sesat. In the end, the alumni only took side stage due to the over-emphasis on ex-committee bashing.
My take from that session was... don't get entangled in politics - especially low level ones like PIBG.
This reminds me of the story of the Ketam Melayu & Ketam Lain, as told by a friend...
The ketam seller has 2 barrels of ketam, ketam melayu and ketam lain. The barrel containing ketam melayu was left open but the barrel containing ketam lain had a lid on it. Then a potential buyer struck a conversation with the ketam seller..
Buyer :"Tauke, saya nak ketam la. Ketam apa ada?"
Seller: "Dalam tong ni ada ketam melayu, tong ni ketam lain."
Buyer:"Aik?! Apsal ketam melayu dalam tong terbuka, tapi ketam lain tertutup?".
Seller:"Sebab, kalau sekor ketam lain dapat panjat keluar, dia tarik ketam-ketam lain sekali. Sekejap lagi kosong la tong tu. Tapi kalau sekor ketam melayu panjat keluar, ketam-ketam melayu lain akan tarik dia.. hujung-hujung dia jatuh balik dalam tong. Jadi tak payah la tutup."
