new balance 15km run

Phew! 15km run during the New Balance event was no joke for me. Due to lack of training, my calves cramped several times forcing me to walk many times to complete this run.

I can usually run non-stop for 10km but during this run, I gave up after about 8km of running - that was just before we started to climb the steep hills in Bukit Tunku very near IKIM. Prior to that hill, my energy was drained from climbing several hills in Taman Tasik Perdana and the hills behind Bank Negara.

But I guess I have myself to blame for not fully preparing myself for this. Must train more for the KL Marathon if I want to finish the whole 21km event running.

My stats are:
Time: 2hrs 22min
AHR: 171bpm
PHR: 189bpm
Energy: 2406kcal
Distance: 16km (my watch actually measured 1km more).
AvgSpeed: 6.7km/h
MaxSpeed: 9.1km/h.

ps - thanks for the picture Telal and Tey. :)

talisman annual dinner 2009

Talisman celebrated its 2009 annual dinner together with the first oil success in the Northern Fields through our Bunga Orkid platforms this year. The theme was purple and gold, where purple depicts the bunga orkid (orchid flower) colour while gold reflects the black gold that's flowing from Northern Fields.

I'm somewhat more 'privileged' this year given the kindness of the GCR team to reserve a table under my name - cool! And thank you, GCR for doing this.

Me and my darling (I look so fat).

Jonathan giving the compulsory annual dinner speech. He did a good job and the audiences actually listened and laughed at his jokes too. :)

Nita, performing that night.

Including Reshmonu.

happy birthday, Sayang

Alhamdulillah. Happy birthday to you, Sayang. I hope you like your gift. :)

Did you realise that you were very engrossed with your gift? That's an indication that you like it. :)

Thank you for the nice dinner in Tupai-Tupai, Sayang.

kampung paku & sepang gold coast

[After the sports day]...

Its been more than a month since we balik kampung, and when we decided to do so, we were greeted by 2 newborn baby goats (kids) which were about 3 days old. They are so cute and kids loved the kids... hehehe.

Lyana petting a kid.

Aneesa and Haryz with a kid.

Me, my junior and and the 3 days old kids. Very cute!

On our way home the next day, we decided to stop over in Sepang Gold Coast to let the children enjoy the beach. They've been asking me to bring them tp the beach almost everyday, so they were very excited when they finally got their chance.

Sand castling is my children's favourite activity.

Some dipping was not to be missed. Haryz got some help from Aunty Nur.

Aneesa enjoying the sea.

Lyana with Fitri.

We then left at sunset and had our fill of seafood at one of the seaside restaurants. What a way to end a good day. :)

little caliph sports day 2009

Dear Lyana,

Today is your schools sports day. It was held in Stadium Terbuka, Shah Alam. There were lots of people there and 3 Little Caliph schools joined together to have their sports day too. You participated in a dance routine on a song by Faizal Tahir, which Abah forgo the song's name.

Here you are in action:

This is Uncle Ibdil's daughter, Soffya, from Little Caliph Kota Damansara.

Aneesa giving you a 'hug of support'. :)

After some meal, you participated in 2 events. One is running together with your partner in a hoop...

and the other event is carrying a ball between your legs.

There you go, Lyana. Jump! Jump!

For both events, your red team got the bronze medal. :) Yeaaayy!

Big hug from, Abah. :)

sepang gold coast site visit

After work today, Ruslan, Halim and I went for a recee cum site visit to Sepang Gold Coast (SGC) for our HR Away Day. From KLIA, I somehow was convinced thinking that it would be a shorter route to go to Morib first then to Sepang, but it eventually took us almost 2 hours to reach SGC passing through Banting. The return route from Sepang was only 30 minutes from KLIA. Wasted so much time and fuel. Shucks!

Nevertheless, we had a good time. We stopped at fishing village jetty and bought some fresh fish which we later asked the restaurant to fry for dinner - yummy.
Had a good idea of activities and facilities to organize the HR Away Day soon. Fruitful visit!

lyana's performance

Assalamualaikum Lyana,

This is to record your school performance yesterday. Here's some pictures of you. Mama was very proud of you. Your dance steps were well executed but you never smiled even slightly - maybe you were nervous. But you did good, nonetheless.

Love,
Abah & Mama

genting ride

It was more than 2 years ago since we had a ride up to Genting Highlands together on my bike - so we decided to rekindle it. This time we went through the Ulu Yam route which is quite winding up to Genting. It turned out to be quite cold up in Genting, which was nice. We then had Nasi Beriani Gam in Ampang, KL.

We had a good time, didn't we darling? (apart from the sore butt, I'm sure).

My wife can carry me. ;)

Cooling.
My darling.

When I say jump... Woohooo!

Lets make this a yearly event, okay Sayang?

kids and jai's visit

On May day, we spent our whole day at home with the kids. Lyana, Aneesa and Haryz, you are all certainly a handful together with your own antics and messiness - but very cute, nonetheless.

Cutenyeee!

Alaa, cantik la anak2 abah ni.

In the evening, Jai came to our house for a ziarah. Congratulations Jai, in getting your new ride and thank you for the tasty satay. :)
