It started when Hjh Rabeah woke up to go to the toilet and suddenly saw 3 men in masks scurrying outside their bedroom. Upon seeing her, the 3 robbers rushed into the room and threatened her with their knives taken from the kitchen of their house.
The men, allegedly Indonesians through their language and accent, tied both Hjh Rabeah and Hj Zainal. Since Hj Zainal tried to fight back, one of the robbers tried to silence him by making him lie on the bed and covered his face with a pillow.
The robbers cut the grille to gain access.
"They took all our jewelleries, money and handphones, except the collected money for the masjid, which the robbers returned after taking" said Hjh Rabeah.
"We are sad that this has happened to us but I'm thankful to Allah that I am still alive" said Hj Zainal.
Upon further investigation, it seemed that the robbers also striked the neighbours of Hj Zainal but failed to get through to their house - possibly because some had alarms systems, while another house had people up all night long.
"Alhamdulillah, both my parents are alright" said Azad, the victims' son who rushed to their side from Shah Alam after hearing the news. Azad and his family were there over the weekend and had left earlier the previous day.
